Full-grain leather is regarded as the highest quality leather, which is why we choose it for the production of our bag and accessories.
Being the strongest, outermost layer of the hide to be used, and keeping the grain in its entirety, rather than being sanded away to look more ‘uniform’, full-grain leather lasts much longer. As it ages, it develops a patina, which is the change in color over time. This change occurs faster on untreated pieces and is considered to be a highly desirable characteristic of leather.
On the smooth, unaltered surface, you can even see the pores and small hair follicles (if you use a magnifying glass), which indicates that the leather is of high quality. Other characteristics to take note of are fat wrinkles or growth lines, natural variations in the grain texture, shading, and small scars.
Every hide is unique as it comes from a different animal with different markings and blemishes so when looking at or working with full-grain leather you’ll soon realize that no two hides are exactly the same.

I ordered the Navy Blue Athena crossbody bag/wallet. The leather is soft and absolutely beautiful. The compartments in the purse are everything I was looking for….and I looked for the perfect purse for months. I love designer bags, but honestly, I am tired of seeing everyone with the same purse. This crossbody stands out and is absolutely worth the price. I love Minooy and their quality handbags. I will definitely purchase from them again.
The bag I chose came exactly as I expected. It is well made, the color is exactly as shown. It is perfect for traveling as described. We are going overseas and I wanted something that I could carry all important ID’s, credit cards, passports, phones, lipstick in one place and keep it safely on my body and the crossbody bag is exactly what I needed. Oh, and I had mistakenly ordered the wrong color and when I reviewed my order and realized what I had done I quickly emailed customer service and the following day they emailed back and assured me they would send the color I wanted. I was so happy, and I got the right color! Very nice company, I would order from then again!!
In every detail and design the Athena bag by Minrooy is designer quality at an incredible value.
The quality of the leather is soft, supple and beautiful - it feels like my Chanel bag. The gold hardware is expensive looking and feeling. I love the neutral Trench color - a pretty neutral seen in much more expensive bags. The bag proportions are perfect and the front pocket is great for my passport, jewelry case, tissues, sunglasses. The larger compartment is well thought out and finally a dedicated elastic hold for my pens! - 2 of them. The inside lining is light colored linen feeling strurdy yet soft material. Everything has a place including throwing in my iPad and a water inside. The tassle and gold clip, I’m choosing to use as a charm easily disconnects to the matching wallet if needed. It came with two straps including a beautiful designed thick cross body strap for those longer hauls but I don’t know if I’ll need it - the existing adjustable strap is a soft canvas on the underside and leather on top - best of both worlds there. I love this pretty minimalist bag that I can carry night and day 24/7.
I feel I found a great secret with these bags and although this color could be year round for the price (and the 20% discount on next purchase) I love the blue and dark green bags as well for fall and winter.
I don’t know yet how this bag will wear over time but in my experience as a handbag snob these bags and accessories rise above any domestic US labels.
Shiipping was super quick with no delays and the packaging beautiful with soft velvety dust covers.
